Thoughts on the Concept of “Forgiveness” and the Power of Your Subconscious Mind

Forgiveness, you see, is a spiritual initiative rather than one grounded in the emotions or the intellect. It is therefore, not a passive undertaking. Deciding to forgive is a deliberate and committed decision.

Whenever any person makes a deliberate and committed decision they are bound by the laws of the Universe to lay claim to the “I” in, “I made a decision”. The mind then influences the body-Mind harmony and body health. This harmony cannot be achieved in an environment of hostility, which is the bed-ground of lack of forgiveness.

Even knowing this, it is difficult to forgive others completely without reserving that small corner of your heart that asserts you were right and they were wrong.  That is because you may be seeking to forgive others by using a rational explanation for the reason you should (or should not) forgive. 

Truly releasing lingering remorse, guilt, or anger through simple reasoning is impossible.

It requires that you acknowledge and accept that any act of forgiveness primarily gains personal benefit, and that the most significant area of personal benefit is of a spiritual nature.

Once you realize that your failure to forgive hinders the flow of love into your life and the circulation of this essential energy throughout your body and mind, you are capable of forgiving others from a place deep within you. You allow yourself to acknowledge consciously that the giving and receiving of love is strictly up to you. It does not lie with anyone else, irrespective of past or current circumstances.

Personal power is initiated and then develops further as you recognize and then internalize the reality, which is, that it is in your best interest to forgive and to accept forgiveness.

 From there, you can more simply acknowledge that the benefit of forgiveness is specifically yours. There is really no one else, nor any other thing to consider. Forgiveness is your gift to yourself – from yourself. It then lies with you to look within your
